Now make yourself comfortable. Sit or lie down so that you can fully relax. And when you have found your position – when you are ready – take some time and focus on your surroundings. Maybe the ceiling or the wall. Now focus on a very specific point. Notice how exhausting it is to hold this focus point. You may feel a gentle heaviness in your eyelids. An urge to finally relax. Hold on for just a few more seconds. You might notice how your eyes become heavier and heavier. Let that beautiful heaviness come towards you. And if you are ready to relax, you can now close your eyes. Feel the relaxation. This wonderful relief. Sink into a wonderful warmth – and notice this pleasant heaviness within you. There is no right or wrong. Your subconscious mind knows exactly when you feel good enough – safe and secure enough to fully relax. At this moment you may allow yourself to simply listen and let go of your thoughts.
You might beginn to feel calmness and serenity as you sink deeper and deeper. But for now pay attention to your breathing: take a deep breath in. Calmly and evenly. Pay attention to the lifting and lowering of your body. And breathe out. While you concentrate on your breathing, my voice accompanies you into a wonderful state of relaxation. My voice can calm you – accompany you into your sleep… Breathe deeply into your stomach. And let all the air out. Now imagine that with each inhalation you sink two times deeper. Into a comfortable calmness. And with each exhale you let out all the tension. With each breath you sink deeper and deeper. Further and further into a wonderful, deep relaxation.
If you still have thoughts, you can now count down from the number 300. 300. 299. 298. 297. 296. 295. You might feel how it gets harder to count down over time. There is no right or wrong. You don’t have to count down to the very last number. The goal is to notice how counting gets harder and harder over time. When counting down becomes too hard, you can stop at any time. And there’s nothing wrong with taking a break or skipping a number. With each number you sink deeper and deeper into your relaxation. And maybe you will notice how everything becomes more and more indifferent… That’s right. Feel the relaxation. If you are too tired, then you can stop counting.
I will now count down from the number 5 to 1. With each number you can allow yourself, to sink deeper and thereby relax more and more. Five. You feel completely relaxed. Your muscles are warm and heavy. Four. With each number you sink deeper into this wonderful state of relaxation. All by yourself – and only as far as you can and want. Three. Deeper and deeper. Even deeper than before – more and more relaxed… Two. Further and further into this wonderful warmth. Further and further down… Quite automatically – more and more relaxed. One. Your muscles are heavy. So pleasantly warm. So deeply relaxed. Let yourself sink into this soothing heaviness. Into this warm and pleasant depth – this soothing relaxation. The more relaxed you become, the more your muscles loosen. And the more your muscles loosen, the deeper you can allow yourself to sink. Two times deeper than before. All by itself.
It doesn’t matter where you put your attention. You don’t have to listen to my voice carefully. You can keep counting. Or you can digress, and doze off. It doesn’t matter if everything becomes more and more indifferent to you. When your mind is slowing down and wants to relax… it can do that at any time. Some people like to think of a wonderful place during hypnosis. Maybe a vacation memory. Some imagine the sound of the sea. Palm trees and warm sun rays. Warm sand touching your feet. Maybe even a gentle breeze blowing past you. Warm and crystal clear water. If your conscious mind is ready to sleep, it can do so. If it wants to drift – maybe think of a nice memory – or even count down further, that’s perfectly fine. There is no right or wrong. You are in a wonderfully relaxed state. You can sleep. Doze off – or fully relax. Let yourself go. Let yourself drift… If your mind is ready to sleep, it can do so at any time. Your subconscious mind will continue to absorb all the words.
You can now sink deeply and gently into a pleasant heaviness. My words carry you on the way to relaxation. You can allow your thoughts to pass by. Like clouds in the sky. Notice how you can relax physically and mentally. Allow a pleasant warmth to flow into your body. Feel your body working powerfully and reliably. Relax the muscles around your face. Relax your eyes. Your jaw. You are perfectly secure and safe. Also relax the muscles in your neck and let your shoulders sink. The feeling of warmth and comfort spreads throughout your body. Now let this pleasant warmth flow into your feet. Let it flow, up to your legs. Further over your stomach. Allow the warmth to move on and envelop you in a wonderful sense of security. You may notice the warmth releasing tension within you. And now that the warmth is flowing over your neck, you feel a wonderful, deep serenity. Not only there, but in your whole body. This wonderful wave flows all over you. Over your forehead, your eyelids. You are enveloped in a wonderful serenity. The warmth carries you into a deep relaxation. The more the warmth envelops you, the deeper you sink into this wonderful state. And it doesn’t matter if your mind drifts away in this soothing warmth. Your muscles are so relaxed that you no longer want to lift or move them. Because every single movement would be so exhausting. Allow your body, to fully relax and rest.
Now, with each inhale say to yourself with your inner Voice, „I am falling asleep”… And with each exhale say to yourself „I am fully relaxed”. I am falling asleep… I am fully relaxed… I am falling asleep… I am fully relaxed… Very good. Now sink into this wonderful warmth one more time. Fully relaxed. Completely safe and secure.
I want you to find out where your body is most relaxed. Focus on your left leg. And compare the relaxation there with that in your right leg. Where is the relaxation – even if it’s just a bit – stronger? Left or right? Now focus on the more relaxed part. Notice how this part relaxes twice as much as before. And while you feel this new relaxation, you may not even notice how your other leg relaxes three times more. And with the focus on your legs, you may not even notice how your arms are relaxing two times more. Your hands relax. So does your forehead. And now with this relaxation you are sinking deeper and deeper. Your body is now so much more relaxed and warm, that you are sinking so much deeper into this wonderful state. More and more. Even warmer – safer – and more relaxed. All by itself. You entire body is so deep and relaxed – enveloped in warmth. Just as your muscles are completely relaxed too. So wonderfully heavy and warm. The more your body relaxes, the deeper you sink. And the deeper you sink, the more you relax.
Just let yourself glide into this wonderful state, which is so relaxing and soothing for you that you don’t want to let go. So warm and comfortable. You may feel how your mind is able to relax – and ready to let go of all the stress. Notice how everything dissolves. How everything slows down. My words can calm you down.
From now on, every time I say the word “sleep,” you can allow yourself to sink even deeper. Every time you hear this word, you can slide deeper and further into relaxation, but always just as far as you can and want to. And now, let go. Sleep. Sink further and further into this beautiful warmth. Deeper and deeper. Let yourself drift. You can dream – sleep. Or simply drift around in this relaxed state. Maybe like on a cozy cloud.
Your subconscious mind is a tremendous force. It can guide you, keep you safe, and find better ways for your life. This happens all by itself. Sleep is a wonderful way to rest deeply. If we allow ourselves to appreciate sleep, we can sleep more deeply. You may find yourself falling asleep faster with each passing night, if your subconscious mind allows you to. Your subconscious knows exactly how to appreciate this state. And it finds new and better ways on how you can fall asleep even more comfortably. It knows how to let all that, what is now unimportant, go away… and pass you by. Your subconscious learns how to build a safe distance from all the events. And that you are safe and secure, when falling asleep. Allow your subconscious to find new and creative ways to help you fall asleep better and faster. All by its own. You can now relax. Let go. Sleep. So in the next morning, you will wake up energized and rested. Give your body its well-deserved sleep. Five. Completely detached. Four. Deep and rested. Three. Safe and warm.
